Vetrina is a provider of user-friendly yet performance-focused digital web design for products, services & people.

It is formed out of my 25-plus-year record of providing commercial services and the delivery of revenue-generating marketing campaigns. I am foremost a devotee of high-quality graphic and industrial design and a source of fresh perspective.

Favourite pieces of industrial design include the Citroën SM Coupé, Bristol 403 Aerodyne Superleggera, Toyota Land Cruiser GJD76W Station Wagon, 1970s wristwatches and brutalist architecture.

Among my influences are the brands of Alessi, Goyard, automotive designers Thomas Ingenlath, Chris Bangle and Robert Opron, watch designer Gérald Genta and industrial designer Marc Newson.

All of these I use to help inform my work, creating websites that are not only useful but also beautiful.

My client websites are beautifully crafted using bespoke written content and contextual imagery, creating an engaging interface and a positive user experience.

From inception, our websites fuse form and function, with embedded analytics as standard.

I support my clients with both front-end and back-end development and Project Management.

Design Philosophy

My design philosophy at Vetrina is inspired by Roman architect and civil engineer Marcus Vitruvius Pollio (C.15-70 BC) for his multi-volume work titled “De architectura”.

Is it the only treatise on architecture to survive from antiquity, and it is regarded, since the Renaissance as the first book on design theory.

Three design principles: firmitas, utilitas, and venustas – solid, useful and beautiful.
— Vitruvius

His discussion of proportions in architecture, design and the human body led to Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic drawing, the Vitruvian Man.

Driven by Vitruvius’s philosophy and an appreciation of current digital trends, I deliver fully optimised websites.

My Methodology

Whether starting from ground zero or looking to refresh or rebrand your existing website, a 360-degree understanding of your brand is key to forming an online presence that faithfully represents your business.

In the current economic and geopolitical climate, there is more to a successful website than it just looking the part.

Your digital shop window needs an engaging user interface (‘UI’) plus a user experience (‘UX’) that speaks to your audience to retain existing clients, generate new clients and maximise recurring revenue.

At Vetrina I start each project by creating a strategy roadmap. At our 360-degree scoping workshops, which all stakeholders attend, we will:

  • Determine your objectives and define your customers.

  • Build qualities that create the website architecture and user journeys.

  • Outline content and define the positive messaging of your online presence.

I will create content that gets results by:

  • Demonstrating and confirming the customer benefits of choosing your brand.

  • Signalling to your customers that you understand their needs.

Even the most beautiful websites don’t work without well-written content.
