Philosophy

The design philosophy at Vetrina is inspired by Roman architect and civil engineer Marcus Vitruvius Pollio, known for his multi-volume work titled “De architectura”.

Is it the only treatise on architecture to survive from antiquity, and it is regarded, since the Renaissance as the first book on design theory.

Three design principles: firmitas, utilitas, and venustas – solid, useful and beautiful.
— Marcus Vitruvius Pollio (c.15-70 BC)

His discussion of proportions in architecture, design and the human body led to Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic drawing, the Vitruvian Man.

Driven by Vitruvius’s philosophy and an appreciation of current digital trends, Vetrina’s digital designers deliver fully optimised websites.
